Those who use the LDP and Serdang interchange, good news. MBSJ is finalising the budget for an RM80 million U-turn ramp on the highway, around the Serdang interchange. The ramp will allow motorists coming from Putrajaya towards Puchong to bypass the busy interchange and head directly to Jalan Putra Permai.
“We have reviewed the design, which is approved by LLM (Malaysian Highway Authority), and we agree that it needs to be built. However, our engineering department is still finalising the project budget,” Subang Jaya mayor Datuk Amirul Azizan Abd Rahim said, reported by The Star.
He added that the project was expected to take three years to complete and costs would be shared between developers with projects in the vicinity and MBSJ. “We are also finalising the developers who will contribute to the project,” Amirul Azizan said.
According to the English language daily, the Serdang interchange was opened to the public in 1999 and caters to those travelling from the LDP to Seri Kembangan via Jalan Putra Permai. Congestion on Jalan Putra Permai – a main road that services various townships – often spills over to the interchange, which in turn causes a backlog on the LDP.
