This Travel Backpack Can Hold 2 Weeks’ Worth of Stuff

Travel days have a way of demanding both mental and physical multitasking—from sticking to a budget and adjusting plans on the fly to quite literally juggling bags, boarding passes, and passports through crowded terminals. A good backpack can make all the difference, freeing up your hands (and a bit of your sanity) along the way.

That’s where this Amazon-favorite style by Tomtoc comes in. Currently on sale for $77 (down from $88), the sleek, carry-on–approved design has earned thousands of five-star reviews from travelers who call it a “game changer” for long trips. With smart organization and surprisingly generous capacity, it’s roomy enough to handle one to two weeks of travel—no suitcase required.

This backpack has a carrying capacity of 40 liters, which many reviewers claim is enough for a week of travel. “I’ve packed this backpack for several five- to seven-day trips, and it’s never let me down,” one wrote. “On my last trip, I easily fit five days’ worth of outfits (including a pair of sneakers), a toiletry kit, my 16-inch MacBook Pro, iPad, chargers, and a slew of accessories.” Another said they went to Spain and Germany for two weeks with only this bag and a small sling, and they were well-prepared.

The bag measures about 20 inches tall, 13 inches wide, and nine inches deep, which fits within most airlines’ carry-on size requirements. “It packs a ton of stuff and still [qualifies] as [a] carry-on bag, even by European budget airline standards,” a reviewer wrote, adding that “the build quality is on par with brands three times their price.”

The backpack unzips on three sides and opens up like a clamshell, making it easier to pack and see everything inside. The main compartment is where you can put the bulky stuff, like clothing, shoes, and a toiletry bag. It even has an easy-access zipper on the very front of the backpack, so you can dig something out without having to fully unfold it on the airport floor. A separate laptop compartment that also opens 180 degrees—convenient for TSA scanning—can hold a 17-inch laptop and 13-inch iPad. It also has lots of slots for smaller devices, cables, and accessories. And you won’t have to worry about your electronics—Tomtoc is known for its cushiony, waterproof laptop sleeves and iPad covers that shoppers say provide “excellent protection.”

On the outside, the backpack has two compression straps and side pockets where you can keep water bottles. The material is durable, and it’s made of 100 percent post-consumer recycled plastic. One reviewer wrote, “I travel internationally monthly, including into remote parts of the world where [the backpack is] subject to dust, dirt, rain, etc.” They said the quality is good enough for rough terrain.

While this may feel like a splurge upfront, frequent travelers say this backpack quickly pays for itself in saved baggage fees—and far less stress on travel days. Plus, Amazon is currently offering up to 32 percent off other top-rated travel backpacks, including best-selling styles from SwissGear, Travelpro, and more.
