7 New Trader Joe’s Finds to Try This February

By the time February rolls around, most of us are more than ready for winter to be over. The snow has turned to slush, the cold keeps us cooped up indoors, and we’re all looking for small ways to feel refreshed again. One easy fix for late-winter blahs? Tossing a few fun, unexpected treats into your next grocery run.

To help, we tapped the minds at Trader Joe’s HQ to get the scoop on every new product hitting shelves in February. Even if warmer weather is still several weeks away where you live, spring is already showing up at TJ’s — at least in the form of bright, sweet, and savory bites.

Wander the aisles this month and you’ll find everything from easy, budget-friendly meals to festive desserts. As we slog through the final, monotonous stretch of winter, one thing’s for sure: There’s nothing dull about Trader Joe’s February lineup.

Patagonian Scallops

Looking for a protein that feels special enough for Valentine’s Day? Trader Joe’s Patagonian Scallops (Zygochlamys patagonica) offer a subtly sweet flavor profile and a tender, delicate texture that will impress any date without breaking the bank. Each package of frozen scallops contains four servings for $10.

These shellfish are smaller than most other scallops and are harvested from the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Argentina. Despite their small size, you can sear and serve them just like any other scallop — though they cook more quickly — and they’re also great for tossing into a garlicky pasta.

BBQ Pork Fried Rice

Trader Joe’s frozen fried rice is well known as an easy, affordable dinner option, and now it’s getting a smoky upgrade. BBQ Pork Fried Rice is heading to a TJ’s near you, featuring cubes of sweet, savory char siu-style pork. You’ll also find plenty of vegetables in each bag, including green onions, sweet corn, peas, red bell peppers, and carrots. The best part? The price. Each pack of frozen fried rice offers two and a half servings for just $4.49.

Stuffed Peppers

Over in the deli section, you’ll find another easy meal for hectic weekdays. These Stuffed Peppers are ready to heat and serve, already filled with seasoned ground beef, long-grain and wild rice, and vegetables such as spinach, celery, carrots, and shiitake mushrooms. To top it all off, there’s a layer of crunchy breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese, and each serving provides 10 grams of protein.

Ice Cube Lettuce

Say goodbye to leftover lettuce that wilts before you can use it, and give a warm welcome to more wedge salads in your life. This month, Trader Joe’s is introducing Ice Cube Lettuce: a smaller, sweeter version of iceberg lettuce. These smaller heads of iceberg lettuce are just as crisp as their larger counterparts but slightly sweeter. Because they’re easier to use up in just one or two servings, the grocery chain hopes they’ll reduce food waste.

Jubilant Sprinkle Cookies

When you need something sweet to brighten a dreary February day, snag a few of these adorable funfetti cookies to brighten your afternoon. The buttery Jubilant Sprinkle Cookies are shaped like ice cream cones, gifts, rainbows, and balloons, with plenty of rainbow sprinkles packed in each bite. As with all Trader Joe’s products, these vibrant cookies are made without food dyes.

Hot Honey Goat Milk Cheese

Hot Honey Goat Milk Cheese is headed to the cheese department, which means all of our cheese boards are about to get even better. The soft, tangy chèvre is infused with honey, red pepper flakes, and habanero pepper powder. (In case you missed it, Trader Joe’s classic goat cheese won the Customer Choice Award for best cheese last month, so you know the base of this offering is excellent.) If you want to try the sweet-and-spicy cheese, you’ll have to act fast — it’s only sticking around through March.

Dill-icious Cream Cheese Spread

Food & Wine / Trader Joe’s

It’s time to plan a bagel brunch because a new Dill-icious Cream Cheese Spread is landing at Trader Joe’s for a limited run this spring. According to the supermarket chain, “the cool and tangy flavors and luxuriously lush textures of cream cheese meet with the herby, aromatic excellence of dill” in this rich spread. If you’re already a fan of the Vegan Creamy Dill Dressing, this could be up your alley, but it’s another item that won’t be around forever.
